My Story

In the course of my many years of working in clinics and practices, I am in contact with patients, whose mostly chronic complaints, are poorly alleviated despite the best conventional medical care.

As a person who is extremely active in sports, I have repeatedly experienced the limits of conventional medicine, which is why I started looking for alternative paths early on in my life. As a result, I came across Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture in the early years of my medical training.

Despite the initially unfamiliar approach of TCM compared to conventional medicine, I realized early on that these two medical worlds can in fact work together.

The question of the effectiveness of acupuncture, which I naturally also asked myself at the beginning of my training, quickly answered itself thanks to the many "field studies" that we undertook as students. In particular, I can still clearly remember how a nagging shoulder pain that I had gotten as a result of overuse disappeared almost completely and instantly by a single acupuncture needle placed in the leg (!) by the instructor.

Thanks to the scientific teaching approach of the German Medical Association for Acupuncture (DÄGfA), the oldest and largest medical association for acupuncture in Germany, I quickly realized that these and similar phenomena have nothing to do with "magic", but can predominantly be explained in scientific or neurophysiological terms. Of course, there are phenomena within TCM that cannot be explained purely scientifically. After all, it is a science that is thousands of years old and although it is coherent in itself, it cannot always be measured or explained using common methods of Western medicine.

Medical Studies

Study of human medicine and doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich

10 years of clinical work at Krankenhaus Nordwest Frankfurt, including 5 years as senior physician

Specialist in radiology, sub-specialized in neuroradiology

As of 2015, predominantly radiological work with a focus on musculoskeletal (orthopaedic/trauma surgery) diagnostics

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Training

Start of TCM training during medical studies in Munich

Continuation of training via the German Medical Association for Acupuncture (DÄGfA)

Additional acupuncture certification from the Medical Association of Hessen (LÄKH)
